Milltown Pedestrian Bridge

The old Black Bridge, the pedestrian link that connects West Riverside and Milltown, will close for good on Monday Dec. 17. Missoula County recently awarded a $2.7 million contract to remove and replace the old bridge with a hybrid design bridge that incorporates one of the existing trusses. Meanwhile, local officials are trying to coordinate with Mountain Line buses to ensure pedestrians will still have a safe route across the Blackfoot River for the duration of the project, which should be completed in the fall of 2008. See KPAX’s website for additional coverage.
