| Milltown Pedestrian Bridge Closes for Removal and Replacement |
December 14, 2007 Milltown Pedestrian Bridge The old Black Bridge, the pedestrian link that connects West Riverside and Milltown, will close for good on Monday Dec. 17. Missoula County recently awarded a $2.7 million contract to remove and replace the old bridge with a hybrid design bridge that incorporates one of the existing trusses. Meanwhile, local officials are trying to coordinate with Mountain Line buses to ensure pedestrians will still have a safe route across the Blackfoot River for the duration of the project, which should be completed in the fall of 2008.
