Updates: Milltown Work On Track for Powerhouse Removal Possibly by Year’s End

Progress continues at the Milltown Reservoir Sediments Superfund Site, according to updates from Missoula County and the EPA. The EPA reports that work is on schedule and that the dam’s powerhouse could be removed as early as December of this year. Read the EPA’s weekly update here.

Peter Nielsen of the Missoula County Health Dept. reports in his monthly update that construction at the Milltown site continues to focus on excavation of the bypass channel; installation of a rail line for shipment of contaminated sediments; fortification of the Interstate highway bridges; and preparation for removal of the powerhouse.
